On January 1st, 2006, I gave birth to my third son. In that moment, I realized to be as involved in my children's lives as possible, I needed to make a change. I wasted no time and signed up for real estate school on January 3rd.

Balancing the demands of a newborn and starting a new career was difficult, but I couldn't let fear hold me back. Working as a paralegal at the time, I handled a lot of real estate and probate law. Growing up,I was around new homes all the time because my father was a builder. His real estate agent, Marcia, inspired me because she was so caring and knowledgeable. Real estate felt like a natural fit that would allow me the flexibility to be there for all of my kids’ events and activities.

As a new agent, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome, but it wasn’t long before I sold my first estate in just a day – this set the tone for the rest of my career. Whatever challenges I faced, I knew I could overcome them and remain steadfast in my dream of creating a more balanced life.

After my first year, I became a full-time agent. Leaving a stable job with a regular paycheck was daunting, but my children were the driving force behind my decision. I found support in my broker, Kathy, who guided me along the way, ready to help if I needed guidance. I pressed on, fueled by my love for my family and a burning passion for helping people.

When the market took a downturn in 2008, I adapted by learning new aspects of the    industry, coordinating short sales and foreclosures. Truthfully, I never slowed down    because more people than ever needed help. I faced challenges head-on, not willing to    give up. It was a humbling and eye-opening experience that only made me a better    agent in the long run.

Whatever my clients are going through, I truly empathize and try to find the best    solution. Having experience with remodels and construction, I enjoy helping clients    visualize a property's potential and transforming it into their dream home. Reaching    those milestone moments together makes this career so rewarding.

While I have achieved professional recognition as a top-producing agent, what matters    most is the happiness I have found in my life. With a total of five children, Andrew,    Connor, Ben, Ava, and Grace, and our dog, Gunnor, it has become a true balancing act,    but I wouldn't have it any other way. My husband, Matt, and I divide and conquer,    prioritizing their activities and milestones because that was my ultimate goal at the    heart of thisjourney.

Each hill I have climbed to get here has been worth it. Not only do I have a career I love, but I also have the flexibility to be with family, travel and support causes I am passionate about. Currently, I work on the board for Chad Tough, founded by a dear friend of mine after losing their child to brain cancer. I also work with Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, Children’s Miracle Network, Habitat for Humanity, and the Toledo Board of REALTORS®. As my children get older, I believe it is important to devotemore time to helping my community and giving back to the causes I am passionate about.

Real estate has been a platform for personal and professional development, and I aspire to make a lasting impact in the industry, just like those who have inspired me. Amidst our busy lives, Matt and I enjoy exploring new places and renovating houses together.

Sincerely,
